Version 1.0/Effective On publication
The NICO website uses only strictly necessary storage. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers, so there is nothing here for you to consent to or opt out of.
"Cookies" is shorthand for several ways a site can keep a small amount of information in your browser — cookies themselves, local storage and session storage. Some are needed for the site to function; others exist to measure or to advertise.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project>-auth-token | Keeps an authorised NICO staff member signed in to internal tooling. It is not set for ordinary visitors to the public site. | local storage | Until sign-out or until the browser's storage is cleared. |
| Hosting and security request handling | Our hosting provider processes standard request information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. | server | Set by the hosting provider. |
The sign-in item is set only when an authorised member of the NICO team signs in to internal tooling. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
Strictly necessary storage does not require consent. Because no preferences, analytics or marketing technologies are in use, we do not show a consent banner — a banner asking permission for things that do not exist would be noise rather than transparency.
Our site is built so that any non-essential technology we later introduce is gated behind consent where consent is legally required. If we add one, this page will be updated and, where required, you will be asked before it loads.
You can clear or block browser storage in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent parts of the site from working — in particular, staff sign-in.
This policy is versioned alongside the Privacy Policy. If the technologies in use change, the change is published here with a new version and effective date.
